STAMP Workshop

2026 MIT STAMP Workshop

Dates, registration, and links for this year's workshop. Attendance is free.

The STAMP Workshop

STAMP is an accident causality model based on systems theory and systems thinking. It covers causes that failure-based models handle poorly, such as complex software, human decision making and human factors, new technology, social and organizational design, and safety culture. STPA is a hazard and cybersecurity analysis method built on STAMP, and CAST is its counterpart for accident and incident analysis. Both look for causes that traditional methods often overlook, such as unsafe interactions between components that each work as designed.

The workshop gives practitioners a place to share their applications and experience with these methods. It includes free tutorials, so everyone can take part regardless of experience with STAMP or the methods built on it.

Workshop sessions

The workshop hosts presentations, panels, and lightning talks from organizations around the world that want to share their experience with these methods.
